Authors Joan and Lisa offer an engaging, hands-on journey inspired by their novel Katy: The Little Rose from Ukraine, a nominee for the South Dakota Prairie Pasque Award. Through lively readings, captivating visuals, and interactive activities, children will step into 1874 Ukraine and follow Katy’s courageous trek across Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, and into the Dakota Territory. Along the way, they’ll be introduced to the animals, culture, and challenges of pioneer life—offering a window into a unique moment in history.
