Throw all you know about board games out the window in this fast-paced showdown where participants sign up in pairs to compete in the ultimate board game battle.
Name your team, earn your points, it's time to Board Game Battle!
Your team will have 1 minute to understand the rules and 10 minutes to play the game. A timer will sound when it is time to change games. Points are awarded on a cumulative basis, with each game being worth a different amount of points.
How to earn points:
Most of the games are already based on a point system that differs depending on the rules of each game.
A few games (Happy Salmon, Trivial Pursuit, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza*, & Jenga) are not organized on a point system. For every round won in Happy Salmon your team will earn 12 points, 1 point for every question answered correctly in Trivial Pursuit, and 1 point for every block successfully removed from the Jenga tower. Every round won in Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza will earn the team 16 points.*
Games: Scattergories, Six Second Scribbles, Happy Salmon, Guesstures, Jenga, Brain Freeze, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza*, Trivial Pursuit & Connect 4 (some games may be removed depending on the amount of teams present at the event)
How to win:
The team with the most points is crowned reigning champions, given the honor of the Board Game Battle trophy housed at their library branch of choice! In the case of a tie the teams will battle against each other in an intense game of Connect 4. First team to "connect four" will win it all. Teams are encouraged to work together in anyway possible.
Don't have a partner? No worries, individual players will be matched up with others at the event!

*The rules for Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza will be adjusted to shorten play time. As soon as a player discards all of their cards the round will end and that team will be considered the winner (+16 points). After this has occurred a new round can begin.
