Synopsis of Bloomsbury's Late Rose
Bloomsbury, London. Two sisters: one a writer, the other a painter. When schizophrenia claims their siblings, the young women, afraid of passing on the family curse of mental illness, make a pact to remain single. Years later, both sisters fall in love. Will they break their pact, jeopardizing their close friendship? Or will professional rivalry slowly drive a wedge between them?
First, there were Virginia Woolf and Vanessa Bell. Then, there were Bloomsbury's other sisters: Charlotte and Anne Mew. A true story of family loyalty set in Edwardian England, which Kirkus Reviews calls: "A rich, enjoyable historical novel with compelling themes."
