Teen Writers Open Mic

Calling all teen writers! Come and read an excerpt of your story or poetry aloud. Invite family and friends, and enjoy refreshments. A social hour begins at 1:30 p.m. and readings begin at 2 p.m.

Register here to read an excerpt of your story or poetry aloud. Explore a visual exhibit presented by the Teen Writing Club. Invite family and friends to enjoy an afternoon of inspiring voices and refreshments. Formal wear is optional.

A social hour begins at 1:30 p.m. and readings begin at 2 p.m. Readers, please check in with library staff by 1:45 p.m. 

Registration is required for readers. By registering, readers agree to the following requirements: 

• Readers must be in grades 6-12.
• Each reader will have up to 3 minutes to read aloud an excerpt of their own creative writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or script). Memorization is not required. 
• The creative writing must be rated PG or PG-13. Please no graphic language or content. 
• The creative writing must be the reader's original work.
