Dr. E. Janet Johnson will present on her newest poetry collection, Root Cause, and chronicle her experience in education.
Debuting her second poetry collection, Janet Johnson reflects on her time in education as both a student and an educator. Having attended five different public schools across the country, Johnson was adept at being the "new kid." Her journey was faced with rigid rules and harsh punishments, inspiring her to take a different approach once an educator that fostered a love of learning. Johnson's poetry seeks to unravel the root cause of self-doubt and how to overcome it.
Dr. E. Janet Johnson is a retired professor of English from South Dakota State University and Augustana graduate.
