World-renowned Lakota children’s author Donald Montileux will read his book Muskrat and Skunk = Sinkpe na Maka: a Lakota Drum Story. Children will decorate their own 3-D horse.
Donald Montileaux is an Oglala Lakota ledger artist, author, and illustrator. His book Tatanka and Other Legends of the Lakota People was selected by the South Dakota Humanities Council for the 2019 One Book South Dakota selection. Mr. Montileaux has presented his art in galleries throughout the United States. He enjoys helping children develop an appreciation of art and history through his workshops.
